Emmy winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus has insisted her character on hit HBO TV show Veep is nothing like Vice President Kamala Harris.
In the show, the actress, 63, plays self-absorbed and ambitious politician Selina Meyer, the vice president, who later becomes president of the United States.
Following the news that President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race, fans re-circulated a hilarious clip from the political satire comedy in which Louis-Dreyfus’ character reacts to a similar situation.
However, the Seinfeld alum said her mistake-prone Veep character is not based on the real-life first female vice president.
“I play a very, let’s say, almost narcissistic, sociopathic, mega, manic type of person. I’m not a Kamala Harris type,” Louis-Dreyfus said. MSNBC‘s Ari Melber on Friday.

However, the award-winning actress insisted that Harris has nothing in common with her character.
“I played a character who was a woman but also hated being a woman and didn’t want to define herself as a woman because she thought it wouldn’t be an advantage,” Louis-Dreyfus said.
