Chris Evans admits he’s terrified of hosting Saturday Night Live – WhatsNew2Day

Date:

As his Ghosted co-star Ana de Armas gets ready to host Saturday Night Live for the first time this weekend, Chris Evans reveals he’s terrified of hosting.

Evans, 41, promoted Ghosted with the Armas in an interview with ET Canadawhen asked if he could come over for a guest appearance on SNL.

While the actor didn’t confirm or deny a possible cameo event on Saturday, he revealed he could handle that… but he couldn’t handle the hosting.

“Well, now a cameo I can handle. I’ve avoided hosting “SNL” like the plague for years simply because I’m so scared. It’s terrifying to me,” Evans admitted.

“For me, it would just be one of those things that would wake me up in a cold sweat every night,” Evans continued.

He added: ‘a cameo sounds great, that’s perfect. In and out… get your toes wet,’ although hosting doesn’t interest him.

“But hosting, I take my hat off to her. She’s gonna be great. But it would give me a lot of sleepless nights,” Evans continued.

Later in the interview, he added, “I’m not a funny person. Maybe I only feel that because I have really, really funny friends who once told me I’m not a funny person.”

“I just know how I would feel… it would just be a daily dread, constant regret,” he continued.

‘Why did I do this? I could have been comfortable in my house, in my bed, without having to worry about this,” he insisted.

Ghosted follows a man named Cole (Evans), who falls in love with a woman named Sadie (de Armas).

After she doesn’t return his calls and texts, he decides to follow her to London as a “romantic gesture,” only to discover that she is a CIA secret agent.

Together they must team up on an international mission to save the world in this new movie, premiering April 21 on Apple TV Plus.

Evans is coming off a busy 2022, voiced Buzz Lightyear in the Pixar animated spin-off Lightyear and starring in The Gray Man with Ryan Gosling.

Ghosted will be the first of three films he will release in 2023, followed by Pain Hustlers and Red One.

Pain Hustlers is another Netflix production, starring Evans alongside Emily Blunt, Chloe Coleman, Catherine O’Hara, and Andy Garcia.

Netflix has currently set a release date for Pain Hustlers on October 27, 2023, directed by Harry Potter filmmaker David Yates.

Red One teams up with Evans and Dwayne Johnson in a holiday-themed adventure that also stars Oscar winner JK Simmons as Santa Claus.

The film also stars Kienan Shipka, Kristofer Hivju, Lucy Liu, Nick Kroll, Mary Elizabeth Ellis and Bonnie Hunt as Mrs. Claus.

While Netflix hasn’t handed out a release date, it seems likely it’ll hit the streaming service near the Christmas break.

Evans was also recently announced to reprise his role as Lucas Lee in a new Scott Pilgrim anime TV series.
