The Queen Consort delighted the schoolchildren with her artistic skills this afternoon as she got stuck in some drawing.

The royal family, 75, was joined by graffalo painter Axel Scheffler to read passages from the iconic book to students at the Rudolf Ross School in Hamburg,

The visit was one of King Charles and Camilla’s final engagements on their three-day tour of Germany.

After reading an excerpt from a best-selling children’s book, first published in 1999, the Queen Consort is invited to join the students in drawing the legendary children’s character.

Camilla is depicted closely studying the illustrations in the book before drawing the main character on plain paper.

Using only a pencil, King expertly recreated Grufallo’s shaggy coat and round shape.

Pleased with her handiwork, the Queen signed the drawing “Camilla R” and left it for the class to remember the visit he made.

During the engagement, Camilla is questioned by the children about whether she speaks German – to which she jokingly replies: “Nein”.

When asked about her favorite pass times, Camila revealed that she enjoys gardening, reading and swimming in the sea.

Speaking of her hobbies, Camila said: ‘I used to have horses, but unfortunately I don’t ride them anymore.

I think I’m old but I have racehorses. Last night I saw on my screen one of the foals being born and it was very exciting.

‘It is very important for children to read and draw because one in five children in the UK does not have a single book,’ said Scheffler.

“Some children can’t even read or write and that’s a big problem.

The Queen Consort is very much involved in changing that.

Earlier in the day, Camilla placed a single white rose at the Kindertranporte memorial – which honors the rescue mission in 1938, which granted 10,000 refugee children entry to the UK from Nazi Germany.

The Queen appeared moved as she placed the flower on the ‘Last Parting’ bronze statue, which was first erected in 2015.

The memorial depicts two groups of children – those dressed in light brown represent children evacuated to a new life abroad, while those depicted in dark represent the thousands of children transported by train to concentration camps.

Created by Frank Meisler, it is one of five similar installations across Europe, one of which is at London’s Liverpool Street station.

However, this isn’t the first time that Camila has hung out with some art with school kids.

In 2014, the then Duchess of Cornwall proved that she too could pull off an agreeable cartoon when the occasion called for while visiting the Exeter Library in Devon.
