A Brisbane man has revealed a shocking family betrayal – admitting the son he thought was his turns out to be his half-brother.
The man, who asked to remain anonymous, called Nova’s Ben, Liam and Belle on Wednesday as the hosts were discussing cheating stories with listeners.
The man revealed that he discovered that his long-term partner had been cheating on him with a very close relative.
“I found out that my ex-partner of four years, or almost four years, was having an affair with my father,” she told radio hosts Ben Jackson, Liam Stapleton and Belle Jackson.
The revelation clearly shocked the radio trio, with Liam responding in an awkward voice: “That’s not good.”
From there, it was all downhill, until the caller revealed that the child he believed belonged to him was actually his father’s when Ben asked him how he discovered the shocking family betrayal.
“My father and my ex-partner decided to open my sister’s mouth, and my sister went and spoke to my mother, and my mother told me,” she said.
‘And to make matters worse, you know, just lying to a person about a five-year-old, telling them it’s theirs when it’s not.

Even more shocked by the second revelation, Ben tried to come to terms with the enormity of the situation and asked the anonymous caller to clarify the situation.
‘Wait, so you’re telling me that you had a child with this woman and now she’s with your father and they’re telling the child that your father is his father?’
The caller set the record straight and reiterated that the boy was actually his half-brother.
‘My father and my ex-partner decided to open my sister’s mouth, and my sister went and spoke to my mother, and my mother told me,’ she said.
‘And to make matters worse, you know, just to blame someone over a five-year-old, telling them it’s theirs when it’s not. I found out that my five-year-old is not legally my son, he’s my half-brother.’
“Yes, I found out that my five-year-old son is not legally my son: he is my half-brother.”
A shocked Belle said, “Oh my God,” and added, “Yes, the child is not actually his father’s son, but he raised his son.”
It seemed the anonymous caller had somehow come to terms with the massive betrayal after the hosts revealed that his admission had earned him a $100 gift certificate to McDonald’s.
“Well, Anonymous, we’ll give you $100 from McDonald’s,” Ben told the caller.
“Sweet,” the interlocutor responded enthusiastically.
Belle then replied: “Who needs kids when you’ve got Maccas?”, before Ben also chimed in.
“It’s devastating what happened to you, but you seemed really excited about having dinner at Maccas tonight, as expected. Good for you.”
