A furious row broke out after a woman paid $230 to have her curly hair trimmed by a specialist hairstylist and the end result left her sobbing.

Briana slammed her ‘horror cut’ as the worst she’s ever had in a steamy TikTok clip watched by millions after she left the trendy city center hair salon in tears.

The video sparked a furious online reaction as others rushed to attack the Sydney hair studio and its staff online with a barrage of racial attacks and death threats.

In her video, Briana revealed that she got a cut and treatment at Rumbie & Co, a salon in Chippendale, before heading off on an adventure trip to Europe in May.

The hairdresser boasts of having stylists who specialize in curls and waves, but Briana said she was so devastated by the cut that she couldn’t even look at herself in the mirror.

“Guys, I know it’s just hair, but today I went to a curly hair specialist; this studio only does curly hair, and this is the length,” she sobbed in the viral TikTok clip.

On Thursday, the Rumbie & Co founder uploaded her own video to TikTok to apologize to Briana for “that haircut” and to explain that she had been refunded $115.

In the original video, Briana cried on camera about the devastating haircut that had left her feeling “ugly.”

She claimed she was told her hair looked like a ‘ball of frizz’ after the cut because ‘…your hair is dry and frizzy, it’s dead, that’s what it looks like.’

Briana said she ended up asking for a refund, but they only wanted to give her $20 back.

“I said, ‘$20, are you crazy?’ Look at my hair, you’re literally a curly hair specialist,” she told the salon staff.

In the video, Briana said that the sides of her hair were different lengths and that the stylist hadn’t parted her hair properly during the cut, and said that her hair wouldn’t even curl properly now.

“I know it seems like I’m being dramatic, but it’s only because I was looking forward to this trip to Europe,” she said through tears.

“I’m so busy and I’ve been booking little things like this to do and now I feel like I look really ugly.”

The video attracted more than four million views, but sparked a flood of comments from people who had similar experiences.

In a video response to Briana, the salon owner apologized.

“Briana, I saw that haircut and… I don’t even know how we got here,” he said.

‘I wanted to let you know that I’m sorry and even though I wasn’t there, I’m going to take responsibility and I’m sorry that this was your experience.’

She included screenshots of emails between the salon and Briana as proof that she received a refund and that the company attempted to rectify the situation.

But the owner also revealed the large number of threatening comments and emails her team received.

“To all my keyboard warriors… I probably wouldn’t be making a statement if it weren’t for the fact that my team is being impacted by threats, death threats, family threats, racial threats,” he said.

“It is absolutely unnecessary.”

The owner acknowledged the importance of reviews, but urged users to think about what they wrote before posting hate messages.
