Speculation is rife online that something nefarious is going on in the White House, with Republicans now demanding “proof of life” from President Joe Biden after he dropped out of his re-election bid.
Biden was last seen on Wednesday arriving in Delaware after being pulled from the campaign trail when he received a positive coronavirus diagnosis in the middle of his visit to Nevada.
The 81-year-old president announced the end of his campaign in a one-page letter sent to X on Sunday.
“I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision,” Biden wrote in the letter.
Vice President Kamala Harris arrived at the White House on Monday, but there are no photos of Biden yet.
President Joe Biden was last seen Wednesday disembarking from Air Force One in Delaware after receiving a positive COVID-19 test result during a campaign stop in Nevada.
Republicans, including Rep. Lauren Boebert, are raising questions about Biden’s health and whether he voluntarily stepped down as president.
Donald Trump said Biden’s illness was a ploy by Democrats to get him out of the election campaign and the race. The former president wrote on his Truth Social account: “Biden never had Covid. He is a threat to democracy!”
And Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the independent presidential candidate for 2024, says Vice President Harris helped cover up Biden’s decline before his withdrawal.
“The perception here is that President Biden was forced to resign,” RFK Jr. told Fox News, calling Harris the “cover-up artist in chief.”
“Kamala has a lot of explaining to do, because she saw the president every day,” he continued. “She was telling the American public, ‘He’s fully capable of running the country, there’s no signs of decline, there’s no signs of cognitive decline.’ That was clearly not true.”
Despite Biden’s promise to address the nation, Republicans remain skeptical about his health and are demanding that he leave before the end of the day on Monday to confirm in person his decision to withdraw.
“I demand proof of life from Joe Biden before 5:00pm today,” Rep. Lauren Boebert posted on X on Monday.
“He needs to get on camera and talk about whether he’s aware he dropped out,” the Colorado Republican wrote. “Hiding is completely unacceptable.”
Harmeet Dhillon, a member of the Republican National Committee from California, posted on X: “Anybody else here want to know the whereabouts and current health status of President Biden?”
Vice President Kamala Harris arrived at the White House for an event with the National Collegiate Athletic Association, where she delivered a speech while President Joe Biden remains in hiding.
And journalist Glenn Greenwald, an anti-Biden leftist, posted on the social media site that he found it “strange and wrong” that Biden had not yet made a televised announcement.
“I don’t subscribe to conspiracy theories about Biden, but still: It’s odd and wrong that Biden hasn’t spoken out given the historic magnitude of his announcement,” Greenwald wrote.
“It’s strange for a president to withdraw on Twitter and then disappear. If he’s well enough to make a decision, then he’s well enough to speak.”
Biden was last seen disembarking from Air Force One in Dover, Delaware, on Wednesday evening after testing positive for COVID-19.
Biden’s health was ultimately what ended his campaign after a disastrous debate against Donald Trump, 78, last month and speculation about his suitability for office.
Concerns only deepened after the president’s younger brother said that was a factor in his resignation.
“I’m incredibly proud of my brother. Selfishly, I’m going to bring him back so we can enjoy whatever time we have left,” Frank Biden told CBS News.
Small business owner Steve Ferguson demanded: “We need video to prove that life exists.”
Harris, who was spotted arriving at the White House on Monday morning, posted on X: “It’s the first full day of our campaign so I’m heading to Wilmington, DE later to say hi to our staff at HQ.”
“One day has passed, 105 more to go. Together we will win this,” he added.
Students for Trump director Ryan Fournier responded to the tweet with: “Is Joe Biden alive?”
Harmeet Dhillon, a member of the Republican National Committee from California, shared his thoughts on X
National Reviews writer and podcast host Jeff Blehar also shared his skepticism about the way Biden ended his campaign on Sunday.
“Joe Biden has not been seen in public since boarding a plane, in extremely unstable health, on Friday,” wrote Jeff Blehar, a podcast host and writer for National Review.
“He resigned from the nomination in a poorly worded statement, clearly written by a subordinate,” Blehar continued in his X post. “He ‘endorsed’ Kamala Harris only in a tweet (A TWEET!) sent later by a social media account (!) that he does not control or use.”
“She has not been seen in public since then,” he added. “Kamala Harris spoke this morning before even explaining why she is standing before the American people.”
“I suppose his condition is pitiful at the moment. How pitiful? You guess for yourself.”
