Varsha Gautham and Sweta Shervegar won a silver medal in the 49er FX women's sailing competition, while Harshita Tomar took a bronze medal in the Open Laser 4.7 category to increase India's medal count on Day 13 in the Games Asians 2018. In addition to Varsha, Shweta and Harshita, Varun Thakkar and Ganapathy Chengappa won bronze in the 49er Men's Sailing event. With three medals in sailing, the medal of India in general has reached 62.
In the FX 49er category, Varsha and Sweta scored a total of 44 points and 40 net points to finish in second place. The gold went to Min Kimberly Lim and Rui Qi Cecilia Low of Singapore with 44 points in total and 14 net points, while the bronze went to Nichpa Waiwai of Thailand and Kamonchanok Klahan. The duo of Thailand scored 46 total points and 42 net points.
In the Open Laser 4.7 category, Harshita scored a total of 62 points and 50 net points to finish third. Muhammad Fauzi Kaman Shah of Malaysia took the gold and the bronze went to Jianxiong Wang of China.
