Rangers have accused Dundee of “negligence and unprofessionalism” after their Premiership match was postponed for a second time due to a waterlogged pitch.
The playing surface at the Scot Foam Stadium in Dens Park had grown over a field on Wednesday morning.
After heavy rain, a second inspection was arranged for 3.30pm and the pitch was deemed unacceptable.
The Scottish Professional Football League has confirmed that the match has been rescheduled for April 17, the third time the match will be attempted.
Rangers attacked Dundee following the second postponement of the match, accusing the club of repeatedly breaching SPFL rules.

“The negligence and lack of professionalism demonstrated by Dundee Football Club, where they have repeatedly breached SPFL rules, continues to have a detrimental effect on the country’s top professional league,” a Rangers statement read.
“In a week in which record television viewing figures were recorded for a match in the same competition, and in which tonight’s match will be televised again on Sky Sports, this episode is deeply embarrassing and also eminently avoidable.
“Rangers expect the SPFL to take proportionate and decisive action in accordance with its rules, and the club will continue to make representations to them in the most vigorous manner possible.”
‘At this time, we once again stand in full solidarity with our supporters, approximately 4,000 of whom were eager to attend tonight’s match.
“Having suffered great inconvenience and shelling out money for the first postponement last month, it is completely unacceptable and disrespectful of Dundee FC to have allowed this situation to develop again.
Rangers also claimed that the club had submitted solutions to the SPFL for the match, insisting that the organization and Dundee had handled the matter “incorrectly”.
SPFL chief operating officer Calum Beattie confirmed Dundee are facing disciplinary proceedings over their pitching issues.
‘While this development is extremely disappointing, we have implemented contingency measures since last month and informed both clubs by email on March 21 of our intention, should tonight’s game fall victim to the weather, to rearrange the game for Dens Park on the evening of Wednesday, April 17,” Beattie said.
“Over the last week we have explored other possible options with both clubs, but none of them were considered better than our original contingency plan.
“This decision gives this vital match the best opportunity to be played in front of both sets of fans and also gives us a week to finalize further contingency planning should the weather unexpectedly deteriorate in the meantime.
“There is currently an ongoing disciplinary process regarding issues with the playing field at Dens Park and the latest developments will form part of those investigations.”
