There was chaos as Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana attempted to leave the stadium following Cameroon’s 0-0 draw with Zimbabwe in Uganda on Tuesday night.

Uganda has a huge United fan base and there has been much excitement about Onana’s presence in the country in recent days.

Uganda’s Namboole Stadium will host the AFCON qualifiers against neighbouring Zimbabwe after its facilities were deemed substandard.

That meant United faithful in Uganda were fully aware that Onana would be playing at the Kampala stadium on Tuesday night.

It caused a scene when the Cameroon team arrived at Entebbe International Airport on Sunday, with even airport staff and security wanting photos.

There were plenty of United shirts in the stands as the Red Devils star kept a clean sheet against Zimbabwe.

And there were crazy scenes after the game when Onana tried to leave and return to the airport.

Hundreds of fans waited as Onana emerged outside, clamouring to get close to the Premier League star.

He was quickly loaded into a Toyota Premio while army personnel managed to clear a path across the road, leaving the team bus behind.
