Last week, a mass brawl broke out on a Ryanair flight from Morocco to London, forcing the plane to divert just 36 minutes into the journey.

A video from the cabin shows passengers shouting at each other in an argument that reportedly broke out when one family asked to change seats.

The visibly nervous cabin crew are seen trying to calm passengers as the plane climbs to 30,000 feet.

The plane was travelling from Agadir to London Stansted on Wednesday night when a fight broke out between two families as people were boarding, a witness said.

The passenger said a man, believed to be in his 20s, asked another passenger to move so he could sit with his wife and children, according to The Sun.

However, the other passenger, a woman who was sitting with her own daughter, allegedly refused to move in front of the man, who became angry with her.

The witness said the angry man began threatening the women.

Despite this, the plane took off without incident, but as soon as the seat belt signs went off, the woman’s husband, who is said to be in his 30s, came to his wife’s defence.

The two men threw punches at each other, the witness said, as Ryanair staff tried to intervene and break up the fight.

“They were trying to beat each other up,” one British passenger told The Sun anonymously, claiming this led to the mass brawl.

‘One of the families was part of a larger group, so other passengers began to join in.

‘Then a lady in the back row started having a panic attack because of everything that was happening. She was screaming and there were children crying.

“It was like a snowball effect,” said the 36-year-old passenger, describing the trip as a “flight to hell.”

“Everything escalated after that passenger wanted to change seats,” they added.

The plane was diverted and landed in Marrakech about 30 minutes after takeoff.

Flight tracking website FlightAware showed the journey of flight RUK3034 as it took off from Agadir, a city on the Atlantic coast of southern Morocco.

Moroccan police rushed to the plane and ejected the nine people involved in the cabin accident.

To make matters worse, another passenger fell ill during the fight and had to be given oxygen mid-flight. He was treated by doctors who determined that he was not fit to fly.

The sick man began abusing the cabin crew and refused to disembark, which was also recorded on his mobile phone.

He can be heard saying that the crew “think I’m a terrorist” and added: “That’s why they’re bringing the whole army here to get me.”

He is also heard threatening: “Give me my fucking bag. I’m going to break your jaw, bro,” while other passengers begged him to get off the plane.

He was also evicted by the police.

In the two hours it took the cabin crew and police to remove the disruptive passengers from the plane, the staff reached their maximum daily work schedule.

This meant that all passengers had to disembark from the plane, were taken to a bus and taken to a hotel where they spent the night.

They were all booked on another flight for the following day, which was also cancelled, meaning they did not arrive at Stanstead until Thursday evening.

In a statement to MailOnline, Ryanair confirmed the series of events and apologised for the “diversion and subsequent delay caused by a small group of disruptive passengers”, saying this was beyond the airline’s control.

“This flight from Agadir to London Stansted (3 July) was diverted to Marrakech after a small group of passengers caused problems, during which time another passenger became ill on board,” the statement said.

The crew called for medical and police assistance, who came to meet the plane on arrival in Marrakech. The airport gendarmerie made the small group of passengers who behaved in a disruptive manner disembark.

‘This passenger refused to disembark and began to abuse the crew, for which he was also expelled from the plane by the airport gendarmerie.

‘As it took almost 2 hours in total to treat and offload these problematic passengers, the crew reached their allowed flight hours and the flight was delayed overnight.

The affected passengers were provided with overnight accommodation and transport to and from the airport. This flight departed for London the following day (4 July).

“We sincerely apologise to passengers for this diversion and the resulting delay caused by a small group of disruptive passengers, something which was beyond Ryanair’s control,” the statement added.
