The man who stabbed a shopping center in which six people died was caught on CCTV ordering a red curry chicken just hours before the attack.
Joel Cauchi, a Queensland man, was shot dead by police after stabbing six people to death and injuring several others, including a nine-month-old girl, in Bondi Junction Westfield shortly before 4pm on Saturday .
Just three hours before the tragedy, CCTV footage captured Cauchi ordering two meals.
The killer was seen ordering a red curry chicken at Saigon Noodle in Bondi Junction, just a block from the shopping centre, at 10.01am on Saturday.
He opens his wallet, but does not pay, and moments later he leaves and tells the worker serving him that he will be back.
He returned to the restaurant at 12:21, ordered the same chicken curry and this time paid for it.
He sat down and spent 15 minutes eating his last meal.
Rogate Sianipar attended to Cauchi and told the Daily Telegraph that he looked confused.
‘He came twice. The first time she didn’t bring the money. I took the order. He said I will come again,” the staff member said.
When he saw the news of Cauchi’s horrific stabbing, he “didn’t believe it.”
