New Delhi:

A 25-year-old YouTuber and Instagram influencer was arrested for doing stunts with his SUV on a busy overpass and setting a police barricade on fire for making waves on social media, officials said Saturday.

Delhi Police has also imposed a fine of Rs 36,000 on him for violation of traffic rules and regulations and has also seized the vehicle under 39/112 MV Act, 100.2/177 MV Act and 184MV Act at Paschim police station Vihar East.

“The YouTuber identified as Pradeep Dhaka, a resident of Chajju Ram Colony, Nangloi, was arrested from his house,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Jimmy Chiram said.

He said information about serious traffic violations by a modified car (golden colour) was received through social media platform blocking the road and causing a major traffic jam.

Another officer said another video was found on X showing the same person setting fire to a police barricade after putting a chemical on it.

A team from the outer district police was called to identify him and take appropriate action against him, the officer said.

After scanning his profile on social media accounts, it was found that Dhaka is an uploader of YouTube content and has created these videos to create and upload reels. But he violated traffic rules and damaged government property, the officer added.

Police said some fake plastic weapons were also recovered from his vehicle.

The officer said the case against Dhaka has been registered at Nihal Vihar police station as the second video of him burning the barricade was shot in that area.
