Robert F. Kennedy Jr. may have chosen lawyer and technology entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan as his vice presidential running mate, Mediate reported last week.

The outlet reported Friday that websites containing RFK and Shanahan’s names were registered by senior campaign adviser Link Lipsitz.

Shanahan, 38, was first linked to RFK after it was reported that she donated $4 million to a Super PAC that funded the controversial Super Bowl candidate’s ad that used retro images from his uncle JFK’s campaign in 1960.

The former technology lawyer previously donated up to $6,600 to Kennedy in 2022, telling the New York Times that she agreed with him on issues like vaccines and environmental health.

The 38-year-old was married to billionaire Google founder Sergey Brin, but the marriage ended in 2022 after she allegedly had an affair with Elon Musk, although both denied the allegations.

Shanahan has already contributed significant sums to Democratic candidates, donating $25,000 to the Biden Victory Fund for his 2020 campaign.

She grew up poor in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she lived on food stamps and tried to financially support both of her unemployed parents.

In an interview with Modern luxury magazineShanahan shared the struggles she faced as a child and how they led her to become an entrepreneur herself.

“When I was a kid, I really had to figure out how the world worked on my own,” she said, explaining how her father was diagnosed with bipolar schizophrenia when she was young and her mother was a Chinese immigrant trying to make it in America. .

“I had two unemployed parents for most of my childhood, so not only was there no money, but there was almost no parental supervision,” she explained.

“As you can imagine with a mentally ill father, there was a lot of chaos and fear.”

So, she said, she learned to succeed on her own, carrying tables at age 12 and using the new Internet to help her succeed and apply to college and to a job.

“I learned to compete in a really creative way by making broken objects perform at levels beyond their perceived capacity.”

In 2003, she began attending the University of Puget Sound, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics and Mandarin Chinese, according to her LinkedIn profile.

She then studied Global Intellectual Property Business and Chinese Law at the National University of Singapore in 2013, before starting law at Santa Clara University.

Shanahan founded ClearAccessIP in 2013, a law firm that uses AI to work on patent portfolios for clients.

However, she left the company in 2020 and founded the Bia-Echo Foundation, a philanthropic foundation focused on “longevity and reproductive equality, criminal justice reform, and a healthy, livable planet,” according to its site Internet.

Shanahan was married to a financial executive before meeting and marrying Brin – the world’s eighth-richest man – at a yoga retreat in 2015.
