A driver and two children were killed after their car collided with a truck on the Meerut Expressway near Ghaziabad, a suburb of Delhi.
The incident, which was captured on CCTV, took place on Saturday.
Dozens of cars can be seen speeding through the multi-lane highway when the SUV collides with the stationary truck on the far right, spins several times and rams an oncoming truck, which overturns, the dramatic video shows.
The front of the car was a mangled pile of metal.
“An Ertiga car carrying 11 children from Amroha to Delhi collided with a dumper. Amid the chaos, locals admitted 11 children and the driver to the local hospital,” said Poonam Mishra, a police officer.
The truck was stopped because it ran out of gas, police said, adding that the driver, Saddam, has been arrested.
The injured children, all aged between 10 and 12 years, were to appear for a Class 6 exam in Delhi at Jamia.
The dead are driver Anas and children Unesh and Azam.
