An assistant public prosecutor from Uttar Pradesh was allegedly attacked and looted on a Shatabdi Express while traveling to New Delhi, officials said on Monday.

The incident took place on March 28 around 10 pm when the Lucknow Jn. According to the FIR, the Swarn Shatabdi Express was located about 50 to 100 meters before the Shivaji Bridge Railway Station in New Delhi.

“I was sitting in my coach, C-4, in seat number 2 when a man entered the coach and tried to take my handbag,” Swati Mourya said in her complaint to the police.

“When I resisted, he pushed and attacked me, causing an injury on my left hand. He then snatched my bag and jumped from the moving train. I can identify the person,” she added.

According to the FIR, Swati Mourya lost Rs 15,000, and several identity cards – PAN, Aadhar, driving license and prosecution identity card issued by the Uttar Pradesh government, along with two ATMs, a mobile phone, four diamond rings, two gold bangles and two wristwatches at the incident.

Police said the New Delhi Government Railway Police received the complaint in this regard at 11.20 pm.

“We have registered an FIR under Sections 356 (assault or criminal force in attempt to steal property carried by person) and 380 (Theft in dwelling house, etc.) of the IPC. The suspect will be arrested soon,” an IPC spokesperson said. said a senior police officer.
