The body of a man found in a lake nearly two months ago remains unidentified, and police are now releasing his computer-generated portrait.

The remains were discovered in Blue Lake in Plenty Gorge Park in Bundoora, north-east of Melbourne, at around 3.40pm on October 15.

Police carried out “extensive inquiries” to identify the man but were unsuccessful, prompting them to seek help from the public.

The man is believed to be Asian, between 20 and 45 years old, 172 centimeters tall, with black hair and a stocky build.

He has a small scar or mark on his chest, just above his right nipple.

He was wearing a gray ‘Anko’ hoodie, brown ‘Anko’ shorts, and black and white ‘New Balance’ sneakers.

A new search of the lake will be carried out on Monday with the help of the water police.

Anyone with information that could help identify the man is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
