A man has died after his quad bike rolled down an embankment in a stream on private property.
The man, in his 60s, from Koumala, south of Mackay in central Queensland, was pronounced dead at the scene, Queensland Police confirmed.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 7.40pm on Thursday evening Daily mercury reported, including a RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter.
The man was seriously injured
“When police got there he was pinned under the quad bike and he was pronounced dead a short time later … a tragic accident from the sounds of it,” a QPS spokesman said.
“It appears that the quad had rolled into some kind of water … we don’t have much information about what injuries he sustained, that it was submersion … we can only confirm that he had critical traumatic injuries,” the spokeswoman said.

“The patient was trapped under the bicycle and emergency personnel discovered the patient in traumatic arrest.”
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
