Whoopi Goldberg appeared to be flirting with David Duchovny when she appeared on The View on Monday, leaving him “flushing,” according to panelist Sara Haines.

Whoopi, 68, was one of the celebrities who decided to take part, appearing alongside her former co-host Rosie O’Donnell as they lip-synced the lyrics: “David Duchovny, why don’t you love me?”
After a clip was shown, Sara asked David if it was true that he sings the song to himself when he drives, to which he replied, “Not just in the car, I sing it to myself wherever I go,” before to reveal that it was his friend, Joe Blake, who found the song and sent him the cassette.
He explained, “I was listening to that in my car with the window down, and I think I may have had one or two interactions with people who saw me singing in my car.”

Referring to how the home video, which also features Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Jerry Springer and Pamela Anderson, came about, David revealed: “What happened was there were a couple of personal assistants on The X-Files who made that video as a gift for me, I wasn’t involved in that. And they asked all these people who were generous enough to lip-sync to a song they’d never heard.
Whoopi confirmed this was true and said, ‘Yes, I’m still asking the question!’ as the panel laughed before Sara pointed out: ‘He’s blushing!’
Elsewhere in the interview, host Sunny Hostin was shocked when she misinterpreted David’s comments about aliens during a discussion about The X-Files.
‘You didn’t think it would last more than one season, why?’ Sunny, 55, asked as David replied: ‘Let me think back. I thought… well, I wasn’t necessarily interested in the topic either.’
Sunny couldn’t believe what she was hearing and blurted out, ‘You don’t believe in UFOs? Don’t you believe in things like that? prompting David to explain: ‘It’s not that he doesn’t believe in them, he just wasn’t interested in them, so I’m sure they exist.’
“I also thought that if it’s about aliens, either you’ll see them and then the show will end, or you won’t see them and then people will get frustrated and tune out.” So I didn’t think he had legs and obviously I was completely wrong,” the actor added.
The X-Files, which also starred Gillian Anderson as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully, was a hugely successful science fiction series and David starred in a total of 191 episodes.
Earlier this month, the actor admitted he regrets “working too much” when his two children with ex-wife Téa Leoni were young.
David revealed that all of the celebrities in the video were “generous enough to lip-sync to a song they’d never heard before.”
Sara Haines claimed David was “blushing” when Whoopi joked about continuing to ask the question: “David Duchovny, why don’t you love me?”

‘I certainly worked a lot when my children were little. That’s something that could have changed,” she said during an interview with People.
“But of course, it’s also great to model a committed person for a child. It may also not be the best to dedicate your entire existence to your child, so it could be anything…
‘I don’t have access to the other road that could have been travelled. I only have one that I traveled to, so I’m certainly not a perfect parent, but I love my kids. “I love my children very much.”
He added: ‘I felt loved unconditionally by my children… and I love them unconditionally. Just them being in the world has taught me that feeling of both sides, and I don’t think there’s anything deeper or more meaningful than that.
‘I will always feel inadequate (as a father). Maybe I was a good father, because my children are great people and they probably want to think of me as a good father too. They don’t want to think of me as a failure. I’m sure I’ve done bad things, I’m sure I’ve made mistakes, but we all have. So I try to give myself more breathing space.’
