The Internet is divided after learning that Vice President Kamala Harris’ guilty pleasure is nacho cheese Doritos, a treat she says soothed her soul after the “shock and dismay” of the 2016 election.
In a fundraising email her team sent out Friday night, she revealed that she ate the entire bag of chips by herself that night.
“(Election night) was incredibly bittersweet. When I walked up on stage to give my acceptance speech to represent California in the Senate, I tore up my notes and got ready to read them, walked up on stage and said, ‘We will fight,'” she said.
“Then I came home and sat on the couch with a family-sized bag of Doritos and didn’t share a single chip with anyone… I just stared at the TV in complete shock and dismay.”
She even revealed that she didn’t share any of the fries with her husband, Doug Emhoff.
But most importantly, he told his fans: “Eight years later, two things are true: I still love Doritos and we still haven’t stopped fighting.”

For his part, Emhoff said in a tweet from 2019 that he “actually ordered some” chips from his wife the night Hillary Clinton lost the presidential race and “she told me to buy another bag.”
In an aside Video of 2019During a quick round of questioning with an interviewer, she was asked what her guilty pleasure was and she excitedly replied that it was Doritos with Nacho Cheese.
“I love Doritos. I’m with Kamala,” wrote one X user.
“Doritos are my go-to snack when I don’t have much time. I felt a sense of normalcy when I saw the picture of Kamala eating them like me,” said another. he wrote on the platform.
Another joked that they had no problem with their choice of chips, just the taste. writing‘The only bad thing about Kamala’s most recent scandal is that she chose nacho cheese instead of ranch dressing.’
“On election night in 2016, I ate an entire bag of those little powdered sugar donuts. Kamala is a very relatable person.” other wrote.
Most of Kamala’s fans loved how normal the moment made her seem, while others criticized her for seemingly lowering herself to appear relatable.
However, former The View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck did not find Harris’ response to the election results very appropriate for potential US presidents.
“Is that the emotional response of the leader of the free world: gobble down a bag of Doritos in one sitting?” he told Fox’s Sean Hannity on Friday. “Is that the emotional response of the commander in chief, potentially, of the leader of the free world? Gobble down a bag of Doritos in one sitting? Are you kidding me?”
She also said she would feel uncomfortable if she saw Putin drowning his sorrows in a bag of Sour Patch Kids or Qasem Soleimani eating Funyuns.
“I doubt that’s the real response of an elite leader,” he continued. “Regardless of whether you agree with what they’re leading or not.”
‘They’re mad that Kamala is eating a bag of Doritos that the average American can’t afford to buy BECAUSE of Kamala’s economy.’ Doug Billings he wrote in response to Hesslebeck’s comments.
