Schoolmates of the teenager allegedly stabbed to death while camping were left traumatized after stumbling upon their friend’s body the morning after he disappeared.
Daily Mail Australia can now reveal that 15-year-old Isaac’s body was so badly injured that not even his friends recognized him and thought they had found a murdered homeless man.
The teenager’s blood-soaked body was discovered face down in bushland near Wilton, south-west of Sydney, about 7.25am on November 9, after he dropped off his friends the night before.
But they only recognized Isaac by his shoes and confirmed the horrible discovery when they turned the body over.
“He was covered in blood, his gray t-shirt was black, saturated with blood and they only recognized him by his shoes,” one of the teenager’s mothers told Daily Mail Australia.
‘Can you imagine that? Can you imagine what that has done to them? They are children.’
Isaac had left the teen’s camp the night before and told his friends he was heading home because he was cold and hungry.
Police allege the boy later encountered a car on a dark, lonely country road, carrying chef Jacob Greig and a female companion.
Isaac, 15, was camping with friends in Wilton, just outside the southwestern outskirts of Sydney, on Friday night when he was allegedly stabbed by Jacob Greig, 32.
Police allege the boy attempted to open the car door, before Greig allegedly slashed the teen with a knife before the car drove away (pictured: police taking statements the day after the incident).
Jacob Greig has been arrested and charged for the alleged murder
Greig, 32, had been driven to a secluded area near Maldon Weir by local duck farmer Johanna Martin after finishing her shift at the nearby Bargo Hotel at around 10pm.
But when Isaac tried to get into the car, father-of-one Greig allegedly confronted the teenager and is accused of cutting him with a knife.
After allegedly jumping back into Martin’s red Hyundai i30, the pair drove away while Issac attempted to jump into the moving car.
Greig and Martin made the short trip back to their nearby home, where his heavily pregnant fiancée and young son were sleeping.
Police, who have since seized the car, allege video and audio of the incident from nearby CCTV captured the altercation.
Isaac’s body was discovered a short distance away the next morning by the same friends he was pitching tents with just hours earlier.
Greig was later arrested and charged with Isaac’s murder after he turned himself in at the Narella police station, accompanied by Martin and his parents.
But the mother of one of the children Isaac was with, one just 13 years old, says they will be scarred by the crime scene they discovered and may never recover.
“They were kept there for hours while they were interviewed,” he said.
‘Right next to his best friend’s corpse. They will never leave this behind.
‘I can see it now. They walk around without any emotion, as if a part of them has died too, absolutely lost.’
Isaac’s body was found by friends in bushland off Wilton Park Road in Wilton (pictured), south-west of Sydney, on Saturday.
The teenager, Isaac, is alleged to have come across the red Hyundai i30 belonging to bird enthusiast Johanna Martin, 21, (pictured) on a minor road near Wilton, south-west of Sydney.
She said her family and families close to her have not received any counseling or psychological support for their children following the alleged murder.
“We don’t know what to do for them, they are hurt, lost and confused,” he added.
Isaac’s father Paul, who gave permission for his son’s name and likeness to be used, said he wanted Isaac to be remembered as a beloved son, brother and companion, whose life was taken too soon.
Greig faced Parramatta Local Court via live video stream on November 10, with three members of his family in attendance.
He was refused bail and will remain behind bars until his next court appearance on January 8 next year.
Ms. Martin has not been charged with any crime and there is no indication that any crime was committed in her name.
