Sir Elton John admitted “I don’t know how much time I have left” when speaking about death in his new documentary.
The legendary musician, 77, has faced a multitude of health problems recently after having both knees and his right hip replaced following a fall, forcing him to delay his farewell tour in 2021.
And in his new biopic Never Too Late, the Rocketman singer reflected on his own mortality and confessed that he often thinks about life and death.
In a scene from the movie, The mirror Elton revealed while sitting in the dressing room on his final tour. Looking at his possessions he begins: ‘I wonder what will happen to all this stuff when it’s over. This is the last moment of my life. I don’t know how much time I have left.
‘You think about it more when you get to my age. You think about life and death. You think, “Well, I just want to be where I want to be right now.”

‘It’s very exhausting. I’m used to it. I’m a veteran at this, but this is where you start to think about mortality.

‘In fact, the only thing I have left is my left hip. But I’m still here. And I can’t thank you (enough), you are the people who made me.”
Elton was supported by her husband David Furnish and godson Damian Hurley as they graced the Royal Festival Hall red carpet.
The couple share sons Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11, with David, while Elton added: “They worry because they know my age.” Not so much David but me. They love their dad and that’s why they want me to be around forever.
‘I want to be here forever. I want to see them have kids, get married, but I don’t think I’ll be around for that. Who knows? You never know.
‘That’s why I want to make the most of my time while I’m around. Our time together is so wonderful and so precious.”

After a brief appearance on stage, where Ed Sheeran presented him with the award, the singer leaned on a chair and posed for photographs with his gong.
Presented with the honor to a room full of showbiz stars at the Roundhouse in Camden, London, the legendary musician admitted the award “meant a lot as a gay man” and confessed it had been a “long journey” for him.
After a brief appearance on stage, where Ed Sheeran presented him with the award, the hitmaker leaned on a chair as he posed for photographs with his gong.
Accepting the award he confessed: “I’m still happy to be a gay man, I love my husband, I love my children.”
The star told the room: “I feel very honored by this award, it means a lot as a gay man.”
Commenting on his six-decade career, he said: ‘I’m married to my work, I love music. Music saved me when I was happy, it saved me when I was miserable.’
He continued: “The Elton John Foundation was the real focal point of my life” and gave him “a lot of joy and a lot of pleasure” in helping others.
The star added that he and his husband, David Furnish, who is the foundation’s executive director, have raised $600 million for the cause.
Elton became the second person to receive the Legacy Award after it was awarded to Prince Harry in 2017, to mark 20 years since the death of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.
