Australian beauty fans are flocking to Supercheap Auto stores to get their hands on the latest makeup must-haves.
The trend, which defies the odds given the store is typically for car enthusiasts, began after a young woman posted a video showing off the store’s range of tool boxes.
Pink tool boxes, they said, are perfect for storing makeup and beauty tools.
The $29.99 toolboxes are released every year at Christmas, but this is the first year that someone has offered a different suggestion for how they could be used.
“Girls don’t walk, they stumble upon Supercheap,” praised the shopper.
And it seemed to create a sense of urgency among his followers and thousands of people who watched the video.
‘I dragged my hubs to Supercheap to get them. “Now I have to wait until Christmas,” said another woman.
‘I want all the colors. But for now I have to settle for red,” said another.
This toolbox has been repurposed by Australian women.
“Wow, I just bought two,” said another.
But the viral video only fueled excitement, with customers confirming that the pink had sold out locally.
“Please no, I work at Supercheap and we have nothing left,” one woman pleaded.
“I just called and talked to a girl who said, ‘Girl, listen, they went pink, worst case scenario, wear a black one,'” another said.
But due to popularity, many were happy to wait for restocking.
“Tell them TikTok is ready and have cash,” one woman said.
‘Agreed. “I don’t need it now, but I do,” said another.
The tool boxes also come with a two-drawer top set, like the original-size ToolPro sets, which cost $24.99.
The toolbox has been sold out in many stores in Australia.
Toolbox lovers said the young woman should put a mirror on the top piece that lifts up to reveal the top drawer.
The small tool boxes measure 23cm wide, 13cm deep and 26cm high, making them perfect for a dressing table.
But some people said they would use them as tools.
“I want one for my workshop,” said one woman.
“The same thing I would put real tools on them,” said another.
Others said the company should “take a hint” after the boxes sold out “instantly.”
“We want full-sized pink tool boxes and pink tools too,” one woman said.
“I’m surprised they don’t have big pink tool boxes. People come to me to paint them pink all the time,” said another.
The video, which showed the young woman opening her mini toolbox, has been viewed more than 2.9 million times.
