Sunil Narine hit an explosive 85 off just 39 deliveries to guide Kolkata Knight Riders to a sensational win over Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024 on Wednesday. The blow was instrumental in taking KKR to a mammoth total of 272/7 – the second highest in the history of the competition – and it proved to be too much for DC, who were defeated by 106 runs. However, Narine was given a huge lifeline when he finished an Ishant Sharma delivery to Rishabh Pant behind the stumps, but the DC skipper belatedly asked for the DRS review after the umpire ruled in favor of KKR.
Pant was hesitant about taking the review and after some persuasion from his teammates, he finally took the review but was denied as the clock had already run out. However, some social media users were not convinced as they pointed out that Pant was wrongly denied.

Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Delhi Capitals by 106 runs to continue their winning run in IPL 2024. With an improbable target of 273, Delhi Capitals were all out for 166 in 17.2 overs.
Batting first, seasoned Sunil Narine and young Angkrish Raghuvanshi hit scintillating half-centuries to take Kolkata Knight Riders to an imposing 272 for seven.
Narine shot 85 in just 39 balls, while 18-year-old Raghuvanshi powered his way to 54 off 27 deliveries as the DC bowlers took cover.
Andre Russell blazed away to 41 in just 19 balls while Rinku Singh made 26 in eight balls, continuing KKR’s dominance throughout the innings. For DC, skipper Rishabh Pant hit 55 in 25 balls while Tristan Stubbs sizzled with 54 in 32 deliveries.
