Legendary fitness guru Richard Simmons has died aged 76.

Simmons reportedly died at his Los Angeles home on Saturday. according to TMZ.

It comes a day after she turned 76 and posted a message to her fans on Facebook that read: ‘Thank you… I’ve never received so many messages about my birthday in my life!

“I’m sitting here writing emails. Have a lovely rest of your Friday. Love you, Richard.”

Simmons rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s when he opened several gyms and produced fitness videos.
