The Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Kolkata Knight Riders clash in the IPL 2024 with two sides sharing a piece of history. In the very first match of the IPL, the two teams faced each other, with KKR winning the match. Since then they have met several times. Now, ahead of the match, the official broadcasters of IPL shared an old video of Gambhir, where he was seen making some interesting observations on RCB.
“One team I wanted to beat every time, probably even in my dreams, was RCB. Probably the second most talked-about team, the flamboyant team with the owner and probably the squad – Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers. Honestly said not I won everything but still thought they won everything. That kind of attitude. I can’t stand that. Probably the three best wins KKR ever had were against RCB,” Gautam Gambhir says in the video.
“One thing I want in my cricketing career is to take the field and beat RCB.”
.@GautamGambhir thinks @RCBTweets have massively underperformed in the past, despite having done so @imVkohli, @henrygayle And @ABdeVilliers17
Gambhir dreams of getting back on the field and beating Kohli and his team again!

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Andre Russell praised Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and said they have “great match winners” in their squad.
The Kolkata-based franchise will take on RCB in their upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday.
During the pre-match press conference, Russell said that KKR will not take RCB for granted as they can take away any match. The Caribbean all-rounder added that the Bengaluru-based franchise has a good bowling unit.
“My mentality is very clear, especially when I come from a win and also get some runs. (But) I’m not going to take anything for granted. RCB are a great team and they have some great match winners, who can take the game out of their hands . from us. They have a good bowling unit as well. So I hope that if I face five, six, seven, eight balls in the backend, I make the best use of it. But I would like to see the other batters to come the backend. go party tomorrow and at least take some time in between,” Russell told ESPNcricinfo.
RCB batting coach Neil McKenzie spoke about the pitch at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
“I think yesterday’s pitch moves up and down a bit, but that’s certainly not the norm. So I think it should be a good pitch (tomorrow) with some speed in it, which should probably suit our team. McKenzie said.
