‘I’ll take a few weeks to figure out what I’m in’: Raptors coach Nick Nurse says he’s taking stock of his future with the team after 10 years in Toronto after ‘tough season’
Toronto Raptors coach Nick Nurse told reporters Friday that he wants to take some time to reflect on his future after the end of a “tough season from many points of view.”
“Early on, he had some serious injuries with some key players,” Nurse said before the Raptors faced the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Center.
I thought we were over it for a while… Then yeah I guess the trade deadline stuff, I don’t know if there were a thousand rumors, 999 of which were about us, it seemed like that. So this was probably about as interesting as it gets.
Nurse notes that his main focus, however, remains on finishing the current season.
“First of all, I think when this season is over, we’ll take stock of everything, and even personally, I’ll take a few weeks to figure out where I’m at, you know?” said nurse. Like I said, where’s my head. And just see how the relationship is with the organization and everything.
Raptors coach Nick Nurse plans to take a “few weeks” to think about his future

Nurse and the Raptors have endured a tough season that was clearly wearing on a head coach
It’s been 10 years for me now, and it’s a pretty good run. I don’t know, over those 10 years we’ve had to have as many wins with anybody in the league. I don’t even know where that is, but we’ve had a lot of great seasons.
And then, now, my head is to make this the longest season possible. This team needs comma experience.
So that’s where I’m at right now… Finish those six, see where we land, see if we can’t sneak a place or two up the standings, and then give them hell in the playoffs, see if we can get a real series and take it from there .
As Nurse pointed out, he spent a total of 10 years in Toronto between his time as head coach and assistant coach. He also stated that he had not yet considered training elsewhere in the future.
Since being named the Raptors head coach, Nurse has posted a record of 224-160 and led Toronto to the 2019 NBA Championship.
Toronto entered Friday with a record of 38-38 before they took on the Philadelphia 76ers.
They are currently ninth in the NBA Eastern Conference and still have a shot at achieving the NBA Play-In Championship.
