When we think about loyalty cards and rewards apps, we usually imagine discounts on food or a free coffee after ten visits.
But for one woman in Australia, her supermarket’s rewards program turned out to be the key to uncovering a heartbreaking secret: her husband’s affair.
The story was shared on TikTok by Queensland and New South Wales-based private investigator Cassie, who was hired to help uncover an unlikely trail of betrayal.
in a videoCassie, who goes by @venusinvestigations on the social app, explained how her client expressed suspicions that her husband was unfaithful, prompting the investigator to come up with an unconventional suggestion.
The couple in question, who lived in Queensland, had been married for several years, until the wife began to notice a disturbing pattern: her husband began traveling frequently to New South Wales to visit his family.
While this seemed innocent at first, the increasing number of trips began to raise red flags as they were something that had no place in their daily routine.
After the wife raised her concerns with Cassie, the private investigator decided to investigate the couple’s joint Flybuys rewards account, which can be used at more than 20 retailers across Australia.
She explained in the clip: “It’s something we don’t normally think about, but these reward apps can be a goldmine of information.”

Surprisingly, the investigation revealed a series of grocery and hardware transactions recorded on the rewards app.
A surprising twist revealed that while the trips were supposedly to New South Wales, all transactions took place in Queensland, specifically in a suburb which turned out to be where the husband’s ex-girlfriend’s home is located.
Cassie concluded: ‘Brother ditched him for some extra reward points. $10 off at your store but a very expensive divorce.’
More than 50 people took to the comments to express their opinions on using this unlikely tool, while others shared their own experiences that led them to expose their spouse’s cheating behavior.
One person wrote: “The most discreet cheating app,” while another said: “This is gold.”
Another worried: ‘I needed you about 8 years ago, I wish in my heart I knew about this. I wish I knew.
Sharing their own experience of catching their partner in the act, one person wrote: ‘I found out that my now ex-husband bought condoms and kids stuff at Big W etc when I was looking for a transaction in my everyday rewards account. ..’
They added: “We don’t have children nor were we planning to.”

Another shared, “Sometimes when we argue, one of us storms off and waits for the daily rewards receipt alert.”
However, one user argued: “Very low tech… all the wives track their husbands’ phones these days.” They accuse me of cheating if I park on the street in front of the gym instead of inside the gym parking lot.’
