Prince Harry has candidly shared his fears and struggles, speaking about the emotional toll his mother’s tragic death and the relentless media scrutiny have had on him throughout his life. During a candid conversation with Andrew Ross Sorkin on New York Times DealBook SummitThe Duke of Sussex revealed the deep feelings of helplessness that have tormented him since childhood.

Reflecting on the loss of his mother, Princess Diana, when he was just 12 years old, Harry recalled the emotional impact her death had on him. “What happened to my mother and the fact that I was a child and felt helpless, that’s where the internal turmoil comes from.” he explained.

“I felt helpless. “One of my greatest weaknesses is feeling helpless.” He also expressed concern that similar tragic events could happen to him, his wife Meghan or their children, which remains a source of anxiety. “What I was most worried about was that it would happen to me, my wife or my children,” Harry shared.

The duke also spoke about the emotional toll of being the target of false stories in the media, a challenge he has faced from a young age. “I’ve had a vivid experience since I was a child,” Harry explained. “I’ve seen stories written about me that aren’t exactly based on reality. “I’ve seen stories about family members, friends, strangers, all kinds of people.”

Harry admitted that these experiences often made him feel trapped. “When you’re trapped inside this bubble, you feel like there’s no way out.” he said, reflecting on the psychological burden he has carried over the years.

In the midst of these struggles, Harry shared how he learned to deal with media coverage and recommended that others “not read anything” about themselves. “There were times in my life when I read a lot and times when I didn’t read at all. “I highly recommend the latter,” he advised.

As he focuses on his family, the Duke’s main goal remains clear: “The main goal for me at the moment is to be the best husband and the best father I can be.” Harry’s candid admission offers insight into his internal struggles and his continued commitment to prioritizing his family’s well-being.
