Liverpool right-back Alexander-Arnold, who has been assigned an EA Sports player rating of 85, managed to make it to the premiere just 24 hours after playing in the Champions League defeat at Napoli.

Chelsea players didn’t have so far to travel. Frank Lampard’s side lost their European opener at home to Valencia with Rodrigo rounding off a smart set-piece routine in the second half.

Ross Barkley had the opportunity to equalise in the closing minutes but blasted his penalty onto the crossbar and over after appearing to have disagreement with team-mates Willian and Jorginho over who should take the spot-kick.
