The grieving fiancé of a real estate agent stabbed to death days before Christmas has spoken about the heartbreaking moment he discovered she had died.
Julie Seed, 38, was working at Real Estate Agents Group, in Plympton, Adelaide, on December 20, when Shaun Michael Dunk, 30, burst through the door and stabbed her and her colleague Susan Scardigno, of 50 years.
Dunk was arrested at the scene and charged with the murder of Ms Seed, as well as the attempted murder of her colleague, who was seriously injured but survived.
He had been released from psychiatric care just two days earlier.
Seed’s future husband, Chris Smith, was the one who was forced to break the devastating news to his two daughters, aged 12 and 17, and his family abroad that his beloved ‘Jules’ had died.

Smith was at home when he received a call from one of Seed’s distraught colleagues who told him to rush to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
However, it was not until he arrived at the hospital that Mr Smith “discovered the worst”.
Two months later, the moment is still painful for Smith.
“It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do in my life, but it was just about being there for the girls and having to be strong,” she said. 9News.
“The 20th of every month is going to be difficult.”
Smith and his fiancee’s colleague have vowed to fight for answers about why Dunk was released from the hospital two days early.
“There were obviously some mistakes along the way and Julie was just an innocent person in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Smith said.
He and Scardigno met South Australia’s chief psychiatrist this week.
An independent investigation is also underway.
“It could have been avoided, so if we start from the beginning we hope to help others,” Mr Smith said.

The community has rallied around Ms. Seed’s daughters and her fiancé and organized a major fundraiser to be held this Friday night.
The profits will help the family get back on their feet.
The sense of community has kept Mr. Smith going.
Hundreds of mourners, mostly dressed in Seed’s favorite pink color, attended his funeral in January.
Smith remembered his beloved fiancée as a “loving and caring mother, a friend… who would do anything for anyone” during her funeral on January 10.
“You will always be remembered for who you were: a beautiful, incredible soul,” he said during the service.
