Parineeti Chopra, who is awaiting the release of Amar Singh Chamkila, shared a photo collage video of real-life Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot, along with their role versions (played by Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra). Parineeti Chopra captioned the post, “Diljit and I have been privileged to play the roles of two legends, who changed the music landscape in India… Recreating their famous images in the film and seeing them again today gives me goosebumps. I can’t wait.” to share the world of Chamkila with everyone. Wouldn’t have been the same without mine iodidaar Diljit Dosanjh.”
The film happens to be a biopic on the late singer Amar Singh Chamkila, who was murdered on March 8, 1988 at the age of 27. Amar Singh Chamkila was the best selling artist of Punjab at that time. Diljit Dosanjh plays the titular role in the film which also stars Parineeti Chopra as Amarjot, his partner and frequent music collaborator.

Parineeti Chopra summed up her journey of working on the film and wrote, “I am extremely grateful to Chamkila. Earlier this week, the actress shared a BTS video from the sets of the film and wrote in her caption, “How can I ever top this movie experience? Spoiled forever… Chamkila.”
Amar Singh Chamkila is directed by Imtiaz Ali and the film’s music is composed by AR Rahman. The film is scheduled for release on April 12 on streaming giant Netflix. Imtiaz Ali and AR Rahman have previously worked together in films like Rockstar, Highway, Tamasha.
