Jennifer Garner enjoyed a picnic in Santa Monica with her 11-year-old son, Samuel, as she celebrated her 51st birthday on Monday.
The Alias alum Samuel shares daughters Violet, 17, and Seraphina, 14, with ex-husband Ben Affleck, 50.
The Elektra actress was very casually dressed in a well-worn pair of jeans, a charcoal gray T-shirt that she knotted in the front with a black blazer.
She spoke on the phone as her son walked by in blue pants, a green polo shirt, and light pink sneakers.

Birthday Girl: Happy 51st birthday to Jennifer Garner. The busy actress took some time out on her special day to walk with her son, 11-year-old Samuel, in Santa Monica on Monday.
Jen also stopped Drew Barrymore’s talk show on her birthday to promote her latest project.
The Never Been Kissed star, 48, greeted the birthday girl with multicolored balloons covering the ensemble.
During the interview, the Yes Day actress told Drew that it was her portrayal of Dylan Sanders in Charlie’s Angels that inspired her performance as Sydney Bristow on Alias.
You showed me a new way. You showed me something I was like, “Wait, is that possible? Get me in there, I want to do that.” She said of the role she played from 2001 to 2005.
Garner then talked about how difficult the drama series’ schedule is.
‘Twenty-two episodes a year of every lunch break,’ she recalled, ‘I had someone waiting for me to teach me to fight, to teach me a language, to be fit… Heaven to do.
Barrymore then changed the topic of conversation to feature 13 Going on 30 and stated: “This movie means a lot to me and my daughters, it meant a lot to me when it came out and it means a lot to us now.”
Garner then revealed that she had previously been in talks with her former co-stars regarding the lasting quality of the film.

Although Barrymore surprised her guest with balloons and flowers on her birthday, she informed her that she had another trick up her sleeve.
