"Now He Knows My Name": KKR Star Angkrish Raghuvanshi On Meeting Shah Rukh Khan | Cricket News

Kolkata Knight Riders found a new star in the form of Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who scored a quick-fire half-century on debut and helped the side put 272 runs on the board against Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Wednesday. The 18-year-old batsman played a 54-run knock off 27 balls at a strike rate of 200. He hit 5 fours and 3 sixes. In a video shared on the IPL’s official social media, Raghuvanshi spoke about his ambitions for Team India and meeting Shah Rukh Khan, an actor he grew up watching on TV.

“Obviously, you are wearing the Indian jersey. But wear it like no one has ever done before. Everyone will look at me and say, I am different,” Raghuvanshi said.

Talking about his stellar performance against DC, the 18-year-old dedicated his 54-run knock to his coach, Abhishek Nayar and his teammates. He also revealed that Nayar made him learn the reverse sweep and other shots.

“I would like to dedicate this knock to my coach, Abhishek Nayar, my teammates and the support staff. I have learned a lot by staying with them. Abhishek sir has been working with me since my childhood. All this reverse stuff and all that.” he made me practice a lot. So the main man is just him,” he added.

The young star also spoke about meeting SRK and said that the Bollywood actor probably didn’t know his name before but now he does. Here’s the video:

In summary, KKR’s target of 273 proved too high for DC as they gave in to pressure and ultimately suffered a 106-run defeat.

The pace duo of Mitchell Starc and Vaibhav Arora took two wickets each to reduce DC to 33/4 in the powerplay.

These early blows derailed DC’s approach to chasing down the huge total, becoming more challenging with each delivery.

Ultimately, the required pace proved too high as they ultimately suffered a 106-point defeat.
