Guy Pearce ignited marriage speculation Monday when he stepped out wearing a wedding ring at the 34th annual Gotham Film Awards.
The Australian actor, 57, who first rose to fame in Neighbors in the mid-1980s, has been dating Dutch actress Carice van Houten for nine years.
While the couple shares eight-year-old son Monte, the TV stars never hinted that they were engaged or married — until Guy arrived at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City with a ring.
The Memento star proudly showed off the thick silver band, which appeared to be engraved, as she walked the red carpet at the awards ceremony.
Looking dapper in a gray plaid suit, the English-born star was nominated for Best Supporting Performance for his role in The Brutalist.
Wearing a white button-down shirt underneath the sharp jacket, Guy elevated his look with a black tie, brown boots, and black-rimmed glasses.

At one point, he was photographed fixing his tie with his left hand, showing off his apparent wedding ring for all to see.

Guy, who currently lives in Amsterdam with his partner Carice, 48, welcomed his first child with the Game of Thrones star into the world in 2016.
He revealed in an interview with The Independent last year that fatherhood completely changed his outlook on life and made him more emotional.
‘After Monte was born, someone said to me: “Do you realize that now you live with your heart out?” And it really is true, isn’t it? he told the publication.
‘When I started acting, I knew that if I needed to cry, I could easily get out. Then, after 15 years of therapy, I became a much calmer and contented human being, but trying to cry in a scene became impossible.
“However, since I had my son, I cry again at the drop of a hat…”
Earlier that same year, he admitted to Who magazine that being a first-time father at 50 has its challenges.

“Having a young son at the ripe old age of 53 is a lot, but I’m focused on spending as much time as I can with him and being the best dad I can be,” the Melbourne-raised star said.
Guy, who first rose to fame on Neighbours, added that he hopes to bring his son to Australia in the future.
“He’s seen some Australian animals at Amsterdam Zoo, but it will be great to show him our wildlife in Australia,” Guy said.
Guy and Carice began dating a few months after his separation from ex-wife Kate Mestitz in 2015.
In 2018, Guy revealed in an interview with Andrew Denton that it was Kate who decided to end their 18-year marriage when the couple split.
He said he was heartbroken when fans labeled him a ‘b****’ for assuming he left his wife for Carice, when in reality they started dating months after their split.
The Priscilla, Queen of the Desert star admitted he was taken by surprise when Kate abruptly left him, but said he still loves and respects his ex-wife.
