Gavin Newsom was left searching for answers after he was chased by a distraught Los Angeles woman demanding answers about the wildfires ravaging the city.
California’s governor apologized and claimed he was trying to reach the president on the phone when he was accosted by the emotional woman.
However, he could not provide a concrete answer on what was being done in terms of recovery efforts.
“Governor, that was my daughter’s school,” the woman shouted as she ran to Newsom’s car.
“I’m literally talking to the president right now to specifically answer the question of what we can do for you and your daughter,” Newsom responded.
But when the woman asked if she could be present for the call, the governor admitted that he had not yet reached the president.

“I tried to call five times,” Newsom said, prompting the woman to ask why the president wasn’t answering his call.
“It’s off, I have to make a cell phone call,” he added, and the woman insisted she wanted to be there when he got it.
“I’m devastated for you, I’m so sorry, especially for your daughter,” Newsom said.
