Martha Stewart has revealed that she did not spend Christmas in cold New York, but instead decided to travel to Africa for a luxurious safari.
The 83-year-old housekeeping expert took to Instagram this week and confirmed she was enjoying a safari vacation at a luxury resort in Namibia, where a family chalet costs nearly $600 a night.
Revealing that she would be staying at Ongava Game Reserve, Martha posted some photos on Christmas Day and captioned them: ‘Our first trip to @ongavagamereserve on Christmas Eve.
“Our expert guide and driver introduced us to the white rhino, the various antelopes and impalas and some tortoises and freshwater turtles. The sunset was spectacular.”
He also shared some videos of rhinos and informed his 2.5 million followers: ‘The white rhino and grazing calves need grass to survive. Females have longer frontal horns than males. Beautiful creatures.’
Additionally, Martha posted some photos of a beautiful double rainbow and added that they had a “gentle rainy night.”
Ongava Game Reserve is home to several opulent villas featuring private infinity pools and viewing points.
The large private reserve offers guests a variety of experiences and activities and also has its own spa terrace, where tourists can enjoy a massage in nature.

Martha took to Instagram and shared several snaps of the wild animals she was able to see during her tour of the private reserve.

On Friday, Martha continued to share more snaps from their holiday, revealing that they had enjoyed a drive through Etosha National Park.
Martha also posted some photos of a double rainbow in Namibia.
She captioned the post: “Today’s trip through Etosha National Park in Namibia was full of surprises,
“Many giraffes of all ages, many species of birds, antelopes, turtles and a stop at the second largest salt pan in Africa were observed.”
“In the afternoon we climbed a rocky slope to see the oldest and most beautiful tree in the area,” he added.
Martha’s fans were quick to comment on her holiday snaps as one person said: “How wonderful to be celebrating on the African continent.”
Another wrote: ‘This is epic. What a great way to spend your holiday travelling!’ as a third person commented: ‘What a beautiful sight!’
A fourth Instagram user wrote: ‘Thanks for bringing us! How amazing!’
Someone else added: ‘Simply beautiful Martha! I’ve been there and the nature and animals are just amazing!’

Last month, people were not impressed when Marta posted photos from inside the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City, Rome.

It is not certain who accompanied Martha to Africa, but it is very likely that she is on vacation with her daughter Alexis and her two sons, Jude and Truman.
Martha’s Christmas vacation comes after she decided to spend Thanksgiving in Italy, where she took her grandchildren to Rome.
However, many people criticized Martha for her “disappointing” behavior while in the Italian capital, after she uploaded several photos taken from inside the Sistine Chapel.
The sacred space is located within the Apostolic Palace, which is the official residence of the Pope in Vatican City, and as is known, photography and filming are completely prohibited.

However, Martha posted 14 photos from inside one of the world’s most famous buildings and captioned the post: “Just a few iPhone photos of what we saw during our quiet hour in the Sistine Chapel!”
‘I love the painting and the biblical story portrayed in the Chapel. “This should definitely be on your wish list,” he added, but some of his 2.4 million followers were not impressed.
In the comments section, one person asked: ‘Why do they let you take pictures? It’s just wrong!’ while a second asked: ‘How did you manage to take pictures?’
