Martha Kalifatidis reveals the unusual place where she was approached to continue with Married At First Sight and how she almost missed the show on the program
She found fame and love with hunky Michael Brunelli on Married At First Sight last year.
But 31-year-old Martha Kalifatidis has revealed that she initially turned down a spot on the show when she was approached by producers while working at a Mecca Cosmetics store in Sydney.
In a recent interview with Inskin Cosmedics, The brunette said she caught the attention of two women who casually walked into the store.

“These two ladies came in and I just thought they were customers, and I was the type of person who would always go above and beyond with each customer,” she explained.
“They just looked around and I ended up talking to them.”
Martha said the women asked if she had moved to Sydney with her husband, to which Martha replied, “I am single, I haven’t had a boyfriend in 10 years.”

Martha said the producers asked if she had moved to Sydney with her husband and said to them, “I’m single, I haven’t had a boyfriend in 10 years.”
Then they asked her if she ever wanted to get married and do a reality show to find the man of her dreams.
Martha said she immediately said ‘no’ to them, but one of her colleagues secretly gave them her number and insisted they get Martha on the show.
The Greek beauty finally agreed to participate and said “before I knew it, I was wearing a wedding dress and there were cameras everywhere.”

While some parents would be mortified that their child married a complete stranger, Martha said her family, especially her grandmothers, loved watching her find love on TV.
“My two grandmothers, they think it’s the best thing ever. They had married. This was like a glamorous arranged marriage to them, ”she added.
