Manchester City has been preparing for the first game of its title defense by using elastic cords during training on Thursday afternoon.
The patron Vincent Kompany led from the front while Fernandinho, Leroy Sane and a masked Ilkay Gundogan were balanced while holding the elastic cord, helping them strengthen their core during training.
Raheem Sterling, Sergio Agüero and Riyad Mahrez also joined the session as Pep Guardiola prepares his team for their tough test in the Emirates on Sunday.

City players also received a boost during their training session on Wednesday when former Liverpool midfielder Real Madrid and Bayern Munich Xabi Alonso showed up to give a talk to the group.
The Spaniard was seen in a deep conversation with Guardiola on the sideline before sharing a joke with the city manager and his coaching staff in Manchester.
Alonso also greeted the players warmly as they left to train, including French midfielder Aymeric Laporte.

The city has also announced the signing of 19-year-old Australian Daniel Arzani from his sister club Melbourne City.
Midfielder Arzani participated in the World Cup this summer in Australia, playing in the last match of the group against eventual champions France.
"Manchester City is now exploring a development path for Arzani, and a new announcement about a loan will be made to advance his career in the coming days," City said.
Seen in the stands of Celtic Park on Wednesday night for the Bhoys Champions League qualifying match against Athens AEK, Arzani has been closely related to a loan move for the Scottish champions.
If he moved north of the border, he would join Australian midfielder Tom Rogic in Glasgow.
