Married At First Sight star Martha Kalifatidis has responded to online trolls who accused her of taking advantage of her parents.
Martha, 36, currently lives with her parents Mary and Theo in Melbourne with her fiancé Michael Brunelli, 33, and their 18-month-old son Lucius.
The reality star took to Instagram to answer a rather tricky question from a fan, and she didn’t mince her words in her response.
“Why don’t you and Michael pay for your own trip like everyone else?” they asked, referring to the young family’s current situation.
Martha rejected the claim that she was living off her parents, saying the decision to live with Theo and Mary was not financially motivated.
“Our living situation has nothing to do with money,” he wrote.
“The sad thing is that you probably think we’re living with my parents to make money off of the situation. That’s far from the truth.”
He added that his young family’s current living situation was beneficial to everyone involved.

“We actually mutually enjoyed it,” he said.
“Living in a multi-generational home with my parents brings us closer, fosters mutual support and creates a nurturing environment where wisdom and experience come together. It also brings happiness to my parents.”
Martha ended her speech by adding that she felt sorry for the critic.
“I feel sorry for you because you can’t see the benefits of our situation,” he said.

Martha, who was heavily pregnant, revealed in February last year that she and Michael had moved back in with her parents.
Responding to an Instagram Q&A at the time, Martha said the couple had moved out of their Bondi apartment ahead of their European holiday in 2022 after the walls and ceilings became overrun with black mould.
‘Our house in Sydney had a very aggressive black mould and we didn’t want to stay in that house anymore,’ she said.
‘Before we left for Europe, we packed up all our stuff and thought we would find a new place when we returned from our trip.’
Martha ended her speech by adding that she “felt bad for the fan.” “I feel sorry that you can’t see the benefits of our situation,” she said.
Martha, who suffered severe morning sickness early in her pregnancy, added that she spent a few months at her parents’ home “really sick and bedridden”.
“Because my pregnancy was so debilitating, staying with my family was really my only option,” she said.
“Mom convinced us that living with them was a great option, so here we are.”
The Kalifatidis family home features four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a pool, so there’s plenty of room for her, Michael and Lucius to live.
