The beauty of One of the main advantages of an iPad is its versatility. You can use it as a tablet for entertainment, as a drawing pad for sketching, or as a laptop for light work. But that also means you need the right accessories. Apple sells a ton of its own options, but they’re pretty limited — not to mention downright expensive.

It’s my favorite Apple iPad case, but unfortunately it only works with the 10th generation iPad. It’s baffling that Apple hasn’t expanded compatibility to the rest of its iPads.

Adaptable in every way
The Combo Touch doesn’t have too many components. It’s made up of two pieces. The first half is the case itself, made from a soft-touch fabric with raised bumpers around the screen for extra protection. The right side has a slot for storing and charging the device. Apple Pro Pencil (or just save it if you have the USB-C pen). On the back there is a great stand that can be placed in different positions. It is also very sturdy and does not wobble when I touch the screen, when I place it on my bed to watch TV, or when I have it on my lap.

The bottom half is the keyboard and mouse. It’s made from low-carbon aluminum and is the same quality as the redesigned Magic Keyboard case (if you have an older iPad, the case has a fabric texture). Both pieces connect via Apple’s Smart Connector, so you don’t have to worry about Bluetooth connectivity and therefore having to charge the case. This mechanism also makes it easy to quickly connect and disconnect the two pieces.
The keys also come with adjustable backlighting, along with built-in function keys to quickly brighten or dim them from the keyboard. In addition to basic keys like brightness, playback controls, and volume controls, there’s also a Do Not Disturb key and a screenshot key. The scissor keys are comfortable for all-day typing, and this is coming from someone who very In particular, I have a mechanical keyboard on my desk, so I thought I would have a hard time getting used to the Combo Touch, but I find it satisfying. I’m writing this review about it.
This case also makes the iPadOS experience much more tolerable to work with. I can set the screen at different angles, the keys are large and responsive enough to type for long periods without getting tired, and the trackpad is responsive (despite being a bit too large).
