A horrified little boy has died by drowning.

Emergency services were rushed to Lagoon Row in Officer, a suburb in Melbourne’s southeast, about 5pm on Sunday.

The boy was pulled from the water unresponsive and died at the scene.

The age and sex of the child are still unknown.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
