Katy Perry released the music video for her new song Lifetimes on Thursday, after the lead single from her upcoming album Woman’s World was a flop.
The Grammy nominee, 39, filmed the entire project in Ibiza while on vacation with her fiancé Orlando Bloom and their three-year-old daughter Daisy Dove in July.
The nearly four-minute music video captures a bikini-clad Perry partying on the Spanish island with her real-life friends and fans.
Fans were quick to draw comparisons to her iconic 2010 music video Teenage Dream, from the video’s carefree, summery vibes to Perry’s raw beauty.
“Okay, but wow, to me the Lifetimes music video reflects the teenage dream, but now with more maturity and richness,” expressed one excited fan on X (formerly Twitter).
Another stated that ‘‘Katy Perry is back.’

The reception to Lifetimes is markedly different from that of Perry’s female empowerment anthem, Woman’s World, which was released on July 11.
Woman’s World, accompanied by a glossy, big-budget, hypersexualized music video, was intended to mark Perry’s long-awaited return, though it failed to crack the Top 10, landing at No. 63 in its first full tracking week.
The release also faced backlash when it was revealed that Perry had agreed to work with music producer Dr. Luke, 50, on her next album despite her highly publicized legal battle with fellow pop star Kesha, 37.
A source previously told DailyMail.com that Perry was “freaking out” over the failure and holding crisis talks in an attempt to salvage her album’s release.
Shortly after, Perry confirmed that Lifetimes would be the second single from her new album 143.
“Guys I’m gonna say it… the #LIFETIMES MV is better than the Woman’s World MV… It’s SO BEAUTIFUL I didn’t expect the MV to be THIS GOOD,” one “KatyCat” devotee wrote on X shortly after the video’s release on Thursday.
Another wrote: ‘Katy Perry is going to rock the world again! Lifetimes is a hit!’
Many fans feel that Lifetimes should have been Perry’s lead single, not Woman’s World.
“Why wasn’t this the first single? This makes Woman’s World sound like an unreleased demo,” one X user wondered.
The Lifetimes music video opens with footage of Perry in a pink top and faux leather shorts eating during an idyllic ferry ride to Ibiza.
Once she lands on the island, she heads to the beach in a tiny zebra-print bikini, showing off her incredible postpartum body in all its glory.
As an Easter Egg for fans, Perry revealed the full track listing for 143, which is set to drop on September 20, on a billboard behind her in one shot.
Next, the raven-haired beauty dresses up in a sexy chrome silver dress she rented from a local store for $200 while riding on the back of a hot man’s motorcycle.
Images of Perry horseback riding along the island’s shoreline and dancing in the sand in a bikini top echo iconic scenes from 2010’s Teenage Dream.
Unlike Lifetimes, Teenage Dream was filmed in Perry’s hometown of Santa Barbara, California.
Perry is then joined by many of her real-life friends on the beach, including DJ Mia Moretti, as she is pushed out into the water in a bright yellow canoe.
Next, Perry, sporting a white fishnet swimsuit, eats fresh shrimp on a plate with Mia on a speedboat.
At sunset, a bikini-clad Perry shows off her backside as she climbs up red rocks on the shore before jumping back into the water.
Fans were quick to draw comparisons to her iconic 2010 Teenage Dream music video and took to social media to praise her latest single.
