AFL star Patrick Cripps and his wife Monique have announced they are expecting their first child – a baby girl – in April.
The pair shared the happy news on Monday at Carlton’s Hall of Fame dinner at Crown in Melbourne, where Patrick, 29, was awarded life membership on his 29th birthday.
Monica said The Sun Herald she suffered from severe morning sickness, but the couple was delighted.
“I feel good now, I was really sick during the first half,” she said.
“I’m due to arrive at the start of April – we’ll make sure we don’t (miss a game) unless I go earlier.

“He (Patrick) is excited and he gets nervous but it’s a good time of year, there will be a little gang of girls at the club, it’s very cute.”
The couple married in a stunning ceremony in December 2022, exchanging vows in front of 200 guests at a lavish venue in Cripps’ home state of Western Australia.
They exchanged vows at Sandalford Winery in the Swan Valley on December 30 and both chose to wear white.
Patrick shared a photo of the couple sharing a kiss on his Instagram, which he captioned: “MR & MRS CRIPPS.”
The beloved couple announced their engagement in March 2022 and both shared the happy news in individual Instagram posts.
The couple married in a stunning ceremony in December 2022, exchanging vows in front of 200 guests at a lavish venue in Cripps’ home state of Western Australia.
In September, Patrick won the 2022 Brownlow Medal and celebrated by sharing a romantic kiss with Monique.
The Carlton player hugged his fiancée after her name was called at the event at Melbourne’s Crown Casino.
Patrick has been co-captain of Carlton since the 2019 season.
He is a three-time John Nicholls Medalist and became the second youngest player to win the award when he first won it in 2015.
