Katherine Ryan has slammed male comedians who spend months away from their families while on tour, as she reveals she will travel three hours to get home to sleep with her children.
The 41-year-old comedian, who has two daughters and a son, said she “tours like a mother, not a father” and that her children don’t like her being away.
“I leave at 3pm every day,” he said speaking at the Dishes Podcast“I tour like a mother, not a father.”
‘So the guys in my industry just disappear for ten months, and I have to go back and forth and zigzag and I still sleep with the kids because they wake up in the night and I just feel like a baby should never be unattended.
‘I’ll be sleeping in north Leeds, but if anything happens in less than three hours I’ll be back home.’

Katherine, who is currently on a sold-out UK tour, said she regretted taking her family with her when she toured in 2021.
‘My daughter vomits with rage when I leave a room. They don’t tolerate my leaving very well.
‘With my son who just turned three, that was my last tour when he was born.
‘I brought the whole family, we were like the Osbournes and that was a mistake.
“Because I don’t think Romesh (Ranganthan) is going to be given a crying baby when he comes off the stage. That was too much.”
Mother-of-three Katherine and husband Bobby Koostra were childhood sweethearts in high school who reunited decades later before marrying and having two children together: Fenna, two, and Fred, three.
She also has a 15-year-old daughter, Violet, from her previous relationship with boyfriend Alex Edelman.
Joking about Violet, she said: ‘Having a teenage year is like giving birth to a high school bully.
Katherine, who is currently on a sold-out UK tour, said she regretted taking her family with her when she toured in 2021.
Addressing his friend and fellow comedian Romesh Ranganathan, he added: “Because I don’t think Romesh (Ranganthan) should be given a crying baby when he comes off the stage.”

“She’s really beautiful and intimidating, she’s British and has rich parents. She’s like all the girls who were mean to me my whole life.”
In April, Katherine candidly admitted how her three children had “ruined the life I had before” becoming a mother.
The star confessed that since she had her children, she has not been able to continue doing all the things she could do before.
Speaking to Woman magazine, she said: ‘My children have enriched my life, they are such a blessing and I would never trade them for anything.
‘But I’d be lying if I said they didn’t ruin the life I had before. But I rebuilt a better one and that’s okay.
‘I’d be pretending if I said I could still do all the things I could do before and I think we’re selling this fantasy of what motherhood means if we’re not honest about it.’
