A mystery man (pictured, gagged) has sparked fury among Mosman locals after being accused of dumping smelly food in the front garden of a house.

A resident living in a luxury suburb has been left furious after claiming a stranger had been dumping leftover meat and seafood in his front garden.

The homeowner posted images of the serial bug and the litter it left on his lawn in Mosman, north of Sydney, on social media on Saturday.

They accused the man, dressed in a blue collared shirt, black hat and sunglasses, of “repeatedly throwing shellfish and chicken bones” into the house.

Images shared on Facebook reveal several lobster shells, dozens of prawn tails and an oyster shell that the man was carrying in a “shellfish-stained cotton bag.”

“Aside from the illegal dumping, the smell is horrible for us and everyone who passes by,” the local said in the post.

They expressed concern that the man was possibly trying to “poison the turkeys that visit” their home.

The owner took the matter to Mosman Council but said they “won’t do anything” because it is a “private matter”.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Mosman Council for comment.

The post sparked a frenzy among locals who described the act as “disrespectful and disgusting.”

“What kind of person would think of doing this?” wrote one user.

“That’s just disgusting,” said a second.

A third said they “really don’t understand” why he was throwing away food.

‘Why wouldn’t I put it in its normal container?’ they asked.

Another theorized that he was trying to get rid of food outside his house to avoid “the lingering smell.”

“You’d think it would be easier to put it in a public bin if you were worried about odors,” noted a fourth.

Some advised the homeowner to “confront him,” but they responded by saying he would only be in the house for a few minutes before escaping.

Others jokingly noted that he “must eat a lot of seafood and chicken” and that the act was “seafood” of him.
