Jason Momoa allegedly yelled at and abused crew on the set of his film A Minecraft Movie, according to one of his co-stars in the upcoming movie.
YouTube streamer Valkyrae, 32, appeared in a Hot Ones-inspired segment on Friday alongside fellow YouTuber YouTuber JasonTheWeenwhere he was asked about the worst experience he’d had with a celebrity.
Valkyrae, whose real name is Rachell Marie Hofstetter, responded: ‘So the Minecraft movie, I have a cameo in the upcoming Minecraft movie, I would say Jason Momoa.’
Valkyrae claimed she saw the 45-year-old actor, who plays the role of Garett ‘The Garbage Man’ Garrison in the film, “mistreat some members of the crew” during the production of the movie.
“It was pretty disappointing,” Valkyrae said. “It was after a very intense scene, and it was a very emotional scene, so maybe he was still in character, I don’t know. I was just shocked at how he treated some of the crew.”
Jason Momoa, 45, allegedly yelled at and abused crew on the set of his film A Minecraft Movie, according to one of his co-stars in the upcoming movie, YouTube streamer Valkyrae, 32.
The Aquaman star “was really mad at them because they weren’t doing something right with setting up the shot and stuff,” Valkyrae said in the interview, adding that Momoa “was just angry, really angry and yelling.”
Valkyrae said the Honolulu-born star’s behavior created a toxic work environment.
“I thought, ‘This is not a good working environment. I wouldn’t be happy working in these conditions,'” Valkyrae said. “I would say it was the worst thing that ever happened to a celebrity.”
Several Twitter users appeared to give Momoa the benefit of the doubt in their reactions to the segment.
“Valkyrae should understand that sometimes you can have a bad day at the office,” one user said. “You can’t (condemn) or judge based on that day.”
“Have we seen any member of your staff or crew complaining about mistreatment? Let’s be objective sometimes…”
Another said: “She saw a moment of frustration and called it a bad work environment.”
One user said: ‘It’s not the Minecraft movie that has a toxic work environment.’

Several Twitter users appeared to give Momoa the benefit of the doubt in their reactions to the segment.
One user said Valkyrae’s public condemnation of Momoa was not a smart career move on her part.
“She’s barely in the film industry and she’s already talking drama with one of the biggest stars… she definitely won’t be called back to a set after this,” the user said.
Another said Valkyrae, with her background as a streaming personality, didn’t understand the pressure on Momoa as the face of the high-profile film.
“I mean honestly Jason has a stressful job, Valkyrae wouldn’t understand since she sits in a chair all day streaming,” the user said.
One user joked: “I’d go crazy if I had to be in this movie too.”
Stars joining Momoa in the cast of the film, directed by Jared Hess, include Jack Black, Jennifer Coolidge, Sebastian Hansen, Emma Myers and Danielle Brooks.
