Jason Aldean dedicated a recent performance of his controversial hit Try That in a Small Town to Donald Trump.
The singer made the remarks at a concert in Nashville on Saturday, hours after a 20-year-old gunman attempted to kill the former president.
Aldean, in turn, made his loyalty clear, cementing his status as a Trump supporter.
The song used to do so has become the 47-year-old artist’s breakout hit since its release last year, despite some claiming it contains coded support for racism and lynching.
Aldean has denied these claims and seemed to make the point clear by making his Saturday performance a particularly political affair.

“What happened today in Pittsburgh with our former president, President Trump? You know about this, right?” Aldean says in a Tik Tok showing the improvised display of respect.
“President Trump is a friend of mine, so I want to send him this next song,” she continued, speaking on stage.

He concluded by calling the attempted assassination of the former commander-in-chief “cowardly.”
