Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar sent his best wishes to his fans on the occasion of Holi on Monday. Sachin took to his official X account (formerly Twitter) and wished everyone “happiness and colours” on the Holi festival. “I wish everyone lots of happiness and colors on this beautiful Holi festival. Come, let’s all make it an unforgettable celebration together. Happy Holi and Rang Panchami. Best wishes to everyone and a very happy Holi,” wrote Sachin on X.

Gautam Gambhir, former India cricketer and mentor of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), also wished everyone a “colorful” holiday.

“Wishing everyone a very happy and colorful Holi,” Gambhir wrote on X.

Besides Sachin and Gambhir, former India opener Virender Sehwag sent his wishes on the occasion of Holi.

“Rang Barse! Wishing you a Holi full of love, laughter and blessings,” Sehwag wrote on X.

Holi, the festival of colours, is a celebration of vibrancy, joy and of course family and bonding. It marks the blossoming of spring after a long winter season. On the day of Holi, people come together and apply dry and wet colors on each other.

Many people, especially children, celebrate the festival by playing with water-filled balloons and water guns. Like any other festival, people also treat each other with special Holi delicacies like gujiya.
