Prithvi Shaw looked great as he scored 43 for Delhi Capitals in their IPL 2024 match against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. The DC opener, who was not picked for the first two matches of this year’s competition, played a big blow as his side recorded their first win. It was a big occasion for the youngster, who received a lot of criticism for his form last year. After the match, Prithvi talked about the expectations the franchise has from him and how he planned his approach.
“I don’t know about this year, but every IPL they expect me to hit every ball. I don’t look at it as pressure, I just try to go out there, take it as a challenge and do my best. felt good to play white ball cricket after such a long time. The match between DC and CSK also saw MS Dhoni come into bat for the first time in IPL 2024 and even though his side was unable to achieve victory, the fans were enthralled to see ‘Thala’ scoring 37 runs off 16 runs . Prithvi spoke about his admiration for the former Indian cricket team captain and explained how Dhoni shares his vast experience and insightful advice for improvement with the youngsters.
“No words for him. Every time he comes to the ground, everyone can hear what he has achieved and what happiness he brings to the people sitting there. Every time I get a chance to meet him or hang out with him talking, he always shares his experiences about what he has been doing all the time and what I need to do to improve. I feel lucky to be able to play in front of him,” Shaw added.
