An American man made a “swoon-worthy” change to his appearance after landing in Perth, and many agree it made him look instantly “Australian.”
Marshall Borrus, from Connecticut in the US, went viral for getting a mullet to ‘assimilate’ into Australian culture.
The 26-year-old texted his friends. kory and maxi – who lived in Perth – and said he wanted to get a haircut as soon as he arrived.
“It’s pretty much anyone else here in Australia – it’s the national haircut,” Maxi joked about her. podcast, Good morning.
Since then, Australian and international women have been “drooling” over Marshall’s new hair, with many proposing to him in the comments section and begging him to extend his stay in Australia.

Since the haircut and mustache combination is considered “Australian”, Marshall has noticed that many people recoil in shock when they hear his accent.
“People seem surprised when they talk to him and he sounds American,” Maxi noted in a comment.
“I’d probably get whiplash hearing that accent after seeing it,” one woman echoed.
Thousands of people “immediately” fell in love and swooned over the man.

Marshall isn’t the only traveler who pre-plans his haircuts.
